"Mr. M.M. Aung began his career in the 1980s exporting premium teak wood logs to Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. In 1991, he established Aungwood Working Enterprise, expanding into Padauk, Burl wood, and Handcrafted Wooden Carvings. When timber exports were suspended, he focused on sustainable craftsmanship using rare aged woods. In 1996, he obtained a production license and opened his first souvenir shop at Yangon’s Bogyoke Aung San Market, later growing to five shops across the city. He serves as Vice President of the Myanmar Arts and Crafts Association and the Union of Myanmar Bamar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association. Today, he continues to innovate by combining wood with resin, stone, and mother of pearl, creating timeless works that honor both tradition and nature."
